CMOS & KECOBO MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING SIGNING

The 3 Collective Management Organizations i.e KAMP-PRISK-MCSK today signed a Memorandum Of Understanding with the Kenya Copyright Board as guided by the Ministry of Information, Communications and Technology and agreed on the following:

 

1. Procure a single digital solution/ICT system in 90 days to enhance transparency in:
~ License fees collection
~ Media monitoring of rights holders works
~Distribution of royalties

2. The system will also contain a Digital National Rights Registry where rights holders will upload their work.

3. CMOs are required to send out an invitation to tender advertisement of the digital solution/ system as stipulated in the procurement procedures.

The three CMOs are committed to ensuring Transparency and accountability in license fees collection and royalties payment as well as general management of the societies.
