”Was honoured to be the Guest at our First Lady Mama Rachel Ruto’s meeting with Pioneer Gospel Musicians at State House Nairobi and to have the opportunity to articulate the agenda of Music Copyright Society of Kenya (MCSK) in transforming the music industry in Kenya.
Meeting legendary gospel musicians like Mary Wambui of the Ahadi ya Bwana fame, Esther Wahome of Kuna Dawa, Shari Martin of Nina Tangazo la Ajabu, Douglas Jiveti, Faustin Munishi, Agness Masika, Jemimah Thiong’o, Ruth Wamuyu, Japheth & Ann Kasanga, Christopher Arap Mutai and other luminaries of yesterday years who shaped the future of gospel music Ministry and brought us so much joy was nostalgic.
We thank the First Lady for recognising the important role that these men and women played in setting the foundation for the Gospel music industry, identifying and nurturing talents and sacrificially laying the foundation upon which many careers have been developed. MCSK will partner with the office of the First Lady in the County Music Concerts and in other projects including an Award Scheme for the veterans, Welfare support through the MCSK Foundation for Medical Cover for our members, mentorship programmes and other areas geared towards improving the welfare of musicians.”
