MUSIC COPYRIGHT SOCIETY OF KENYA
Music Copyright Society of Kenya is a Collective Management Organization, whose mandate is to administer Copyright in musical works on behalf of artists, songwriters, composers and authors of musical works in Kenya. It is registered as a Society under the Companies Act (Cap 486, Laws of Kenya) (Limited by Guarantee) and is a non-profit making organisation.

We are seeking to fill the following positions:

FINANCE & ICT MANAGER
This position reports to the General Manager

Key responsibilities:

• Maintain proper and accurate accounting records
• Prepare annual financial statements
• Prepare budgets, cash flow forecasts and monthly management reports
• Formulation and implementation of sound financial policies and procedures
• Ensure compliance with all statutory requirements and handle tax matters
• Maintain and administer proper credit control, manage creditors’ and debtors’ ledgers.
• Keep all ledgers, fixed assets, nominal ledgers and such other financial records needed to provide operational, planning and control procedures.
• Budget, plan, coordinate and manage all the ICT functions.

Experience
Over 5 years experience working in a similar position with a reputable organization
Qualifications:
Applicants should be holders of a Bachelors Degree from a recognized university in a relevant field such as Accounting or Finance and a Professional Accounting Qualification such as CPA (K), ACCA or CIMA in addition to a Degree or Diploma in ICT.

Professional ICT qualifications such as MCSE, MCSD, CCNA or MCDBA will be a definite advantage.

Age: Above 35 years

 

INTERNAL AUDITOR

Key responsibilities:
The position reports to the Board of Directors

• Develop internal control policies and procedures
• To plan, coordinate and carry out internal audits
• Review of internal controls and procedures and to check compliance with financial and management policies and procedures.
• Ensure that the company’s financial and physical assets are properly safeguarded against risk or loss.
• Continuously review internal control systems and advise management and the Board on areas of risk/weakness and improvement.
• Carry out continuous review and risk assessment of management information systems.
• Carry out continuous review and risk assessment on all departments, sections and branches and advise management and the Board accordingly.

Applicants for this position should possess an understanding of general audit procedures and internal controls.
Experience
Over 5 years of internal audit experience working in a similar capacity with a reputable organization or audit firm.
Qualifications:
Applicants should be holders of a Bachelors Degree from a recognized university in a relevant field such as Accounting or Finance and a Professional Accounting Qualification such as CPA (K), ACCA or CIMA.

Professional Auditing qualifications such as CISA or CIA will be a definite advantage.

 

FINANCIAL ACCOUNTANT

Key Responsibilities;
The position reports to the Finance & ICT Manager

• Ensuring accurate posting/data capture of all financial transactions in the accounting system and preparation of financial reports for management.
• Preparation of journal vouchers, bank payment vouchers for Head office and branch financial transactions.
• Checking, supervising, monitoring and verifying the accuracy of daily banking against receipts and cash collection summaries.
• Co-ordinating the QuickBooks accounting system.
• Processing of customers’ invoices and preparation of monthly debtors statements and aging lists.
• Supplier statement reconciliations, bank reconciliations and monthly control accounts reconciliations.

Experience
Over 3 years working experience in a similar position with a reputable organization

Qualification
Applicants should be holders of a Bachelors Degree from a recognized university in a relevant field such as Accounting or Finance
OR CPA (K) with 5 years experience working in a busy, dynamic and computerised accounting environment.
Proficiency with ERP and Accounting packages such as QuickBooks, sage pastel, SUN etc
